A nice campsite on the banks of the Groot River in the Baviaanskloof. We were on site 12, which has quiet a steep descent from the main road to the campsite, however there are cement strips so we had no problems.
No electric power and the water is not potable.
But there is a lovely braai/fire pit (bring your own grid) as well as a was up area (covered boma) – with cold water – at the site. The ablutiuons are basic, but site 12 does have hot water from a gas geyser and normal flush toilets.
Green grass and lots of shade (but enough sun to run the solar). You can swim in the river (at your own risk) and site 12 has a wooden platform and a ladder to it’s easy to get out of the water.
It’s in the Baviaanskloof and close to the World Heritage Site. You will need a 4×4 to access the world heitage site.
