Space enough for couples and large groups. Ideal for a one-night stop between other places or for a "check-out" weekend.

Sites

50 sites on short lush seasonal grass with a few shade trees in one section and on the island - most sites have no shade. 20 sites have a paved area of about 6m x 6m. Sites are not particularly level. No ground sheets allowed. Sites are set between well manicured gardens, with free roaming ponies and peacocks. There is abundant birdlife and a well-stocked dam for catch and release fishing • Other accommodation: Self-catering units, Rooms

Site Essentials
  • • Power points for each site - bring a 20+m extension cord.

  • • Water points near sites - water is not potable. There is an onsite water purification plant and water can be purchased from the kiosk/reception area.

  • • Some portable braai facilities available.

Amenities
  • • 2 blocks - Separate Mens and Ladies ablutions - clean, modern, tiled bathrooms with hot water showers (gas geysers), flushing toilets and handbasins. Bath in the Ladies side of the larger of the two ablution blocks - bring your own bath plug. Porta Potty disposal point.

  • • Scullery area for washing dishes - bring your own basin plugs.

  • • Hand washing tubs for washing clothes and a line for drying.

Food, Drinks, Supplies
  • • Onsite restaurant offering light meals Monday to Saturday. Pub right around the corner - other places to eat and takeaways nearby in Springs and at the Springs Mall.

  • • Onsite tuck shop with sweets, cooldrinks and the basics - for more, stock up on groceries locally at a number of stores less than 2kms away.

Access
  • • Suitable for all types of typically accepted camping vehicles and ways of camping.

  • • Tar all the way. Internal roads are paved.

Other
  • • Pet friendly by prior arrangement - please keep your pets on a leash and under control - there are lots of birds, peacocks and ponies on the property.

  • • Malaria-free area, but being near water there can be a lot of flying creatures in summer.

  • • Good cell signal

  • • No WiFi.

  • • 24 hour security patrols and access control. As a general precaution wherever you travel, keep valuables secured away.

Rates
  • 2023 Camping Price Guide*:

    R280 per night per site – 2 people.
    R80 per person per night for extras above the age of two years to a maximum of 6 people per site (max 4 adults).

    R520 per site for up to 4 people
    Extras above the age of two years – R80/person/night.
    Maximum 6 people per site.
    Extra car on stand R30 per night.
    Deposit for Remote and tag for swimming pool – R250 cash deposit; refundable on departure.

    PENSIONER RATES
    Midweek – 2 pensioners – Sunday to Friday morning 11h00 – R700
    Long stay for pensioners R3500 per month

    We enjoyed this campsite as a stopover place – sites are not level, but the ablutions are very clean and there was lots of hot water. Restaurant served good food at reasonable prices. Lots of bird life and two play areas for kids. No hesitation in returning.
