Overview
Doorndraai Lodge has purchased by new Owners and is currently under new Management and will soon be renamed Mzuri Lodge. Located in the Bela Bela/Thabazimbi area, 6 kilometers from Rooiberg. The property covers 1600 hectares of bushveld and comprises of a low lying as well as a mountainous area.

10 level sites with a large paved area and private ablutions, under the dappled shade of indigenous trees. Sites are partially fenced with latte for privacy • Other accommdation: Lodge, Cottage, Bush Cabin

Stunning campsite in a game farm.
Electric power point – braai and fire pit (starter wood provided each day)
Private ablutions – we had site 5 with a bath and a shower. Hot water provided by solar geyser – was always very hot. Pressure good.
Lovely enclosed wash up area with double sink (super!!)
Paved area for pitching your tent. Sites are private with “fence” between your neighbours. But, if you know your neighbours or are camping with family/friends a gate can be opened between each site.
Bird life was great and a few animals camp part the campsite. You can purchase animal feed to encourage the animals. You are also able to drive around the campsite and there is also a 4×4 track.
Doorndraai has 1 wild campsite – with no amenities – and they are busy constructing further wild campsites.
Staff were amazing – and you can “employ” them to wash your dishes as well.
Wood and ice are available, but there is no shop or restaurant.
They also have mountain bike trails, hiking as well as a kiddies play area and a splash pool.
We enjoyed our stay and would definitely go back.
