Overview

A birdwatchers' and hikers' paradise in the Tsitsikamma Section of the Garden Route National Park. Situated in the De Vasselot on the banks of the Groot River, about 30km from the town of Plettenberg Bay and about 40km from Storms River Rest Camp (Tsitsikamma Section).

Sites

44 Level sites. 15 have power, 29 without power. Some are heavily treed with low hanging branches - there are also more open sites. Little general lighting at night, so a torch is essential. Park Telephone: 044 531 6700

Site Essentials
  • • Power on 15 sites only. Shared Power points - Bring a 15+m extension cord.

  • • Water points on or near sites.

  • • Brick Braai. Bring a grid.

  • • Communal Ladies and Gents ablutions.
    Hot water, showers and flushing toilets.

  • • Scullery for washing dishes.

  • • No laundry facilities.

Food, Drinks, Supplies
  • • No onsite restaurant. A Restaurant and pub is located in the nearby village.

  • • No onsite shop. Groceries available in the nearby village.

Access
  • • Suitable for all types of typically accepted camping vehicles and ways of camping.

  • • Travel and staying within the Park is considered safe. As a general precaution wherever you travel, keep valuables secured away.

• Fuel is available at The Crags.
• A shop and restaurant/pub is located in the village where basic commodities may be purchased.

    Rates based on 2 people. Additional charges for any adults and children to a maximum of 6 persons per site.

    Camp Site without power
    R260 to R402 per night depending on dates

    Camp Site with power
    R280 to R428 per night depending on dates

    Daily Conservation fees for 1 Nov 2022 to 31 Oct 2023 for South African Citizens and Residents (with ID) - R63 per adult per day, R31 per child per day. Members of SANParks’ loyalty programme WILD do not pay conservation fees provided that proof of Identity and their WILD card are shown on arrival. A community fund of 1% will be added to the cost of all accommodation.
