Free State, Ficksburg Region - Situated on a working farm between Ficksburg and Fouriesburg on the R26. Home to the annual Cherry Steam Festival. Open all year round.

50 stands on a large expansive and open grassed field without trees or screening • 20 stands available in the central area without electricity hook-ups • Other accommodation: Self-catering Victorian chalets, Self-catering Railway chalets

Site Essentials
  • • Pre-paid electricity available. Bring a 30+m extension cord.  There are some central sites without power.

  • • One shared water point for the entire campsite.

  • • Communal braai area or bring your own braai and grid to braai on your site.

Amenities
  • • Large communal ablution with hot water, showers, basins and flushing toilets.

  • • Scullery area for washing dishes next to the ablutions.

  • • No laundry facilities.

Food, Drinks, Supplies
  • • Food stalls available during events such as the Cherry Steam Festival only. In other times, limited options in Ficksburg 20kms.

  • • No onsite shop - places to stock up in Ficksburg 20kms.

Activities
  • • During the Cherry Steam Festival only: Steam train rides through the Game Camp, vintage aircraft flights, ox-wagon rides, visit heritage vehicle collections, vintage bus rides.

Access
  • • Suitable for all types of vehicles and camping. Soft road caravan owners should be aware of 3kms of gravel.

  • • 3kms of gravel road from the gate, in good condition.

  • • Pets not allowed.
