Overview

This tranquil spot in the middle of the busy city is ideal for those needing to overnight or do a short stay while on business or visiting friends.  Also known as Doornkloof Caravan Park.

Sites

5 "overnight/short-term stay" sites - sites on grass, and some with a paved slab - the sites are on a slight slope. A few smaller trees provide little shade. 25 Long Stay sites - these are usually booked up 6-8 months in advance. This campsite caters for pensioners and is not suitable for young families.

  • • Power points for each site.

  • • Water point for each site.

  • • Bring your own braai and grid.
Amenities

  • • Very clean and neat communal ablutions - hot showers, hand basins, bath in the Ladies, flushing toilets. Rudimentary PortaPotty disposal.

  • • Communal scullery area for washing dishes - everyone usig the area makes sure to keep it clean and neat.

  • • No laundry facilities.
Food, Drinks, Supplies

  • • The neighbouring museum has a coffee shop open Tuesday to Sunday 9 to 5pm (or earlier if they are quiet). Serves light meals. Alternatively there are a number of restaurants and takeaway places nearby - the furtherest you would need to go is Irene Mall, 5kms away.

  • • No onsite shop. Stock up at Irene Mall, 5kms.
Activities

  • • Visit the Museum or take the 2,3km walk around the property. Nearby: visit the Dairy Farm.

  • • Children's Play Area on the Museum grounds
Access

  • • Suitable for all types of vehicles, motorhomes and caravans. Tents are not allowed due to the grass.

  • • Tar all the way.
Other

  • • Pets welcome - they must be fenced within your site or on a leash when going for a walk. Scoop poop!

  • • Malaria-free

  • • Excellent cell signal on all networks.

  • • No WiFi

  • • On a well-fenced property with access control and camera survellience across the entire neighbourhood.
In Town

• In Irene and in close proximity to Centurion and Midstream. Services and shops of all types nearby. Irene Mall 5kms.

Rates

  • 2025 Camping Price Guide*:

    1 to 7 days -R250 per day
    8 to 14 days - 200 per day
    15  to 28 days - R180 per day

    2025 LONG STAY
    2 Pensioners: R3200 per month ex electricity
    2 Pensioners plus 1 extra: R3800 per month ex electricity
    2 Non-pensioners: R3800 per month excluding electricity
    3 month contracts

    Charge for extra vehicles
