A great overnight stop for those travelling between the Highveld and the coast. Situated on the near side of Piet Retief when driving from the west (Joburg/Pretoria).

8 One large site with a paved area, 4 sites on seasonal grass and 3 on hard-packed earth under very shady trees.

• Power at sites - shared points between sites. Bring a 15+m extension cord.

• Braai facilities at some sites - bring your own just in case.

Food, Drinks, Supplies

• Walk through the main reception building to find the restaurant and pub. They will also pack your meal as a takeaway. During very quiet times the restaurant may close earlier than usual, so check when you arrive. There are a number of places to eat in Piet Retief.

• No onsite shop. Piet Retief has a number of supermarkets, fuel stations, vehicle repair outlets etc. very close to the Lodge.

• Cell signal - MTN and Vodacom signal is good and stable - although both are affected by load shedding and power outages.

• WiFi available - The Lodge offers WiFi, but signal strength drops off at the campsite.

• Fenced, CCTV and access controlled. Visitors report feeling safe here. As a general precaution wherever you travel, keep valuables secured away.

2023 Camping Price Guide*:
R250 per caravan/tent/motorhome and R80 per person.
Children under the age of 6 stay for free.
Pensioners above 65 do not pay the additional per person rate.Payment Options: EFT • Cash • Credit Card

Great stands – grass and brick – very clean ablutions – will stay there again.
