Western Cape, R45 Franschhoek Rd, Paarl South - Situated in the Winelands, 60km northeast of Cape Town between Paarl, Franschhoek and Stellenbosch.

Sites

150 Partially grassed stands for caravans and tents - some sites are exclusively for caravans. Campsite has a lot of shady trees. Some sites directly on the river - sites are not pre-allocated except for peak seasons.
Bring a net ground sheet to protect the grass.

  • • Communal ablutions - hot water, showers, basins, flushing toilets.

  • • Scullery for washing dishes • Deep freeze space available for campers.

  • • Laundry on site (accepts Zapper and laundry cards available from the office).

Food, Drinks, Supplies

  • • Berg River Café onsite - opening days and times varies seasonally. Many restaurants to visit in this well-developed tourist area within a 10km radius

  • • Limited shop - opening hours vary seasonally. Stock up in Paarl 8kms.

Access

  • • Suitable for all types of typically accepted camping vehicles and ways of camping. Big-rigs - your choice of site is drastically restricted by the many trees and low hanging branches.

  • • Tar to the entrance. Internal roads are gravel.

Other

  • • Pets not allowed

  • • Malaria-free

  • • Cell signal - Generally good signal strength from all networks. Better signal near the office area where you should be able to stream data from. Weather does affect signal strength.

  • • WiFi available at the restaurant.

  • • Be mindful of your possessions. As a general precaution wherever you travel, keep valuables secured away.
