KZN, 324 Bushlands Road, Hluhluwe Region - A privately owned Game Reserve with the Hluhluwe River on the eastern border.

24 Spacious sites under trees and level, on ground - see the website for the site best suited your group and types of vehicles • Executive site with private ablutions and scullery • 6 communal caravan sites with communal ablutions.
16 executive caravan sites and 2 secluded caravan sites, each with private ablutions.

Site Essentials

  • • Power points on each site. Bring a 20+m extension cord.

  • • Water points on or near sites.

  • • Braai facilities available at each site. Bring a grid.

Activities

  • • No water activiteis on the river due to the crocodiles and hippos

  • • Game drives • Birding

  • • Children can explore the environment around them, but you are in deep natural bush with spiders, snakes etc.

  • • Ablutions are rustic but clean and neat. Hot water, shower, basin and flushing toilet.

  • • Scullery for washing dishes.

  • • No laundry facilities.

Food, Drinks, Supplies

  • • No onsite restaurant. Fast food and takeaways in Hluhluwe 7kms.

  • • No onsite shop. Stock up with groceries in Hluhluwe 7kms.

Access

  • • Suitable for all types of typically accepted camping vehicles and ways of camping. Low hanging branches on some sites.

  • • Tar roads then 2,5kms gravel on D566 from the highway Alternatively take the gravel road from Hluhluwe 7kms. Internal roads are gravel.

Other

  • • Pets not allowed

  • • Low risk malaria-area • October to April - Protect yourself from bites by wearing appropriate clothing and applying mosquito repellent.

  • • No cell signal

  • • No WiFi

  • • As a general precaution wherever you travel, keep valuables secured away.

    What a gem of a reserve! We loved self driving the different routes and exploring the reserve. Campsite was nice and shady, clean ablutions and very private. We will be back!
