FOREVER RESORTS GARIEP DAM

Overview

A convenient stopover between Gauteng and the Cape, 180 km South of Bloemfontein, just off the N1. The Gariep Dam is the largest dam in South Africa, bordering three provinces namely Free State, Northern Cape and Eastern Cape.

Sites

122 Well-laid out, level, demarcated sites. 16 Luxury paved sites offer private ablutions and kitchens. Many sites have large shady trees which may inhibit grass growth - a netted ground sheet is needed • Site numbers cannot be booked - these are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.

Site Essentials

  • • Power points available. Bring a 15+m extension cord.

  • • Water points on or near sites.

  • • Built-in braai facilities available at each site. Bring a grid.
Amenities

  • • One large clean ablution block serves the general camping area - showers & baths, hot water, flushing toilets. 16 Luxury paved stands offer private ablutions and kitchens • Chemical toilet dump station at the ablutions.

  • • Scullery for washing dishes.

  • • Coin-operated washing machines and tumble dryers. Obtain tokens from the security guard at the gate. Washing lines available.
Food, Drinks, Supplies

  • • On-Site Restaurant & Bar

  • • Directly opposite the entrance is a well stocked supermarket shop with fresh food & a liquor outlet. Fuel also available.

  • • Suitable for all types of typically accepted camping vehicles and ways of camping.

  • • Tar all the way.

  • • Security patrolled & fenced with access control, As a general precaution wherever you travel, keep valuables secured away.
In Town

• Shop, liquor and fuel available opposite the entrance. Closest town is Venterstad - 45km.

  • 2025 Camping Price Guide*:
    Maximum 8 people per site.

    STANDARD CAMPSITES
    High Season - R170 per person per night
    Peak Season - R675 per site per night
    1 to 4 people: per site - plus extra person: R170 pppn to a max of 8

    CAMPSITES WITH PRIVATE ABLUTIONS
    High Season - R270 per person per night
    Peak Season - R1040 per site per night
    1 to 4 people: per site - plus extra person: R270 pppn to a max of 8

    PENSIONERS
    Standard sites: R125 per site per night for 2 people
    Private ablution sites: R185 per night for 2 people
    Senior citizen rates applicable during midweek only. Excludes Public holidays, weekends,
    Long weekends and school holidays. Rates are subject to type and availability.

    LONG STAY
    Standard Campsite R135 per night - max 2 pensioners - 30 days excluding Peak season.
