Overview

Eastern Cape, Baviaanskloof - located in Cambria, at the entry to the Baviaanskloof Wilderness Area, 45 km from Patensie on the road to Willowmore.in a peaceful setting on the farm, in the valley of the Ysrivier, a mountain stream • Other accommodation: Chalets and equipped safari tents.

Sites

15 campsites (Sites 1 – 4 have been converted to tented campsites). Sites are individually marked and cleared bare earth amongst yellow wood and other indigenous trees. There is also a Bushcamp, away from the other campsites on the otherside of the farm which has no electricity, but does offer a gas geyser for shower and wash up basin and a separate toilet.

  • • Braai area on each site.

  • • Swimming in rock pools along the river.

  • • Birding • Kloofing • Rock Climbing • Hiking • Explore the Baviaanskloof area by 4x4.

Amenities

  • • Communal ablution with hot water, showers, basins and flushing toilets. Toilet paper is NOT provided.

  • • Scullery area for washing dishes at ablutions. NOTE: No rubbish bins are provided at the campsites, bring own bags that can be dropped in a small wagon at reception

  • • Hand-washing laundry facilities at the abutions.

Food, Drinks, Supplies

  • • No restaurant or bar onsite - bring everything you need.

  • • No onsite shop, so bring everything you need. Stock up in Patensie 45kms or Humansdorp 63kms.

Access

  • • Suitable for all types of vehicles and camping that are capable on gravel roads.

  • • Extensive gravel roads to and from Kudu Kaya and throughout the area. A 4x4 is needed to explore much of Baviaanskloof.

  • • Pets not allowed.

  • • Malaria-free area.

  • • MTN Cell signal

  • • No WiFi hotspot

  • • As a general precaution wherever you travel, keep valuables secured away.
