Set on the shores of the Maputaland coast, Mabibi Beach Camp is situated between Lake Sibaya, Sodwana Bay and Manzengwenya in Northern Kwazulu-Natal.

8 Sites on grass with Milkwood trees for shade. Bring a net ground sheet to protect the grass.

Site Essentials
  • • No Power.

  • • Water tap on each site but bring your own drinking and cooking water - Water in the taps is not suitable for human consumption.

  • • Braai facilities at each site. Bring your own grid.

Amenities
  • • Communal ablutions with lights, hot and cold water, showers, basins and flushing toilets. The ablutions are heated by gas geysers, there is a chance the hot water might run out. An open cold-water shower near the entrance to the beach walkway.

  • • No scullery for washing dishes

  • • No laundry facilities.

Food, Drinks, Supplies
  • • No onsite restaurant. Bring everything you need. There are no nearby options for food and drink.

  • • No onsite shop. Bring everything you need. Stock up in Mbazwana 30kms

Activities
  • • Snorkeling • Surf fishing or fly-fishing - licence required • Swimming in the ocean • Nearby: Scuba diving can be arranged at a nearby lodge • Bring your own gear for all activities

  • • Birding • Beach activities • Visit the local community • 4 x 4 day trips to Lake Sibaya

Access
  • • 4 x 4 vehicles, trailers & tents.

  • • The last 30km is a poor condition sand road - don't travel this road after 16h00 as a personal security measure. You lose cell reception 7 kms from the tar. Please do not stop for strangers.

Other
  • • Pets not allowed

  • • Medium-Risk area. In the intermediate risk areas of Kosi Bay, Sodwana Bay, Mkuze Game Reserve and St Lucia Lake (not the town of St Lucia and the river mouth), the use of anti-malarial drugs is advisable only for high risk people from October to May. Check with your physician or travel clinic.Protect yourself from bites by wearing appropriate clothing and applying mosquito repellent.

• Mbazwana 30kms away has a supermarket, fuel station and ATM. Well-stocked supermarket and a fuel station at the entrance of the Park 18kms.

Rates
  • 2022 Camping Price Guide*:

    Dec 2022 to Nov 2023
    Adults: R210 per adult per night
    Children 4-12 years: R105 per child per night
    Single rate: R420 per night

    Friday, Saturday, Public Holidays and all School Holidays.
    Minimum charge - 4 adults

    No long stay rates or pensioner discounts.

    Payment Options: Booking and payment required in advance - EFT

    Check out time in season is 10h00 and out of season 12h00.
