DG-OVERLANDING
February 27, 2023 at 11:31 amDG Overlanding camped at Senyati Safari Camp. See our review here https://youtu.be/BpJK4LhYUzg
One of our favourite campsites in the Chobe/Kasane area of Botswana.
They have two access roads, a short one, where 4×4 with low range is required and a second one where 2×2 can access the campsite.
The campsites have private ablutions, electric power, and hot water form a donkey boiler.
The ablutions all have a shower with a room with a hand basin. On the other side is the flush toilet and in front is the washup as well as a space where you can sit undercover of the thatch roof. The friendly staff light the donkey boiler each morning and early evening so you always have piping hot water.
The campsite has electricity, with the power provided by 2 normal three pin plugs.
The sites have shade, some more than others, but we’ve always had enough to keep us cool.
In addition, there is a viewing deck overlooking a waterhole which elephant and other game frequent. They also have an underground hide, where you can get up close and personal to the elephants and this makes amazing photo opportunities.
The swimming pool is great for those hot days.
Senyati also arrange/organise tours to all the local tourist attractions (such as Chobe. Victoria Falls, River Boat Cruises, water rafting and more) so you can arrange everything from here.
We have also stayed in their chalets, which we found great and really comfortable with front row elephant viewing !

May 9, 2023 at 12:59 pmWe had a booking at Senyati in April 2022. We got there a bit early (2 hrs) and thought we would sit on the deck and enjoy a few drinks before setting up our camp. At the gate they didnt want to open and said that management would ‘very very angry’ if they opened. Eventually they opened the gate. We got a few drinks and when we could book in (take into account there were 1 other stand taken and we only had 1 night booked) we got a camping site right next to their maintenance store. Coming from places like Elephant sands and with service we’ve received up to that points we were extremely disappointed. We eventually decides to rather move on to Nata. Luckily we only had one night booked.
